A 3.6 × 4.2 m floor, 1.44 m² cartons, 10% waste
The same floor is about 162.7 sq ft. A shopper who switches to feet gets the same 12 cartons, because the calculator converts the measurement before it divides.

How do I calculate how many tile cartons a customer needs?
Multiply length by width, add the waste allowance, divide by the area one carton covers, and round up to a whole carton. For 15.12 m² with 10% waste and 1.44 m² cartons, that is 12 cartons.
Should tile waste be 10% or 15%?
Around 10% is common for straight layouts and 15% or more for diagonal or herringbone patterns. Check the manufacturer’s guidance and set it per product.
Can shoppers enter wall size instead of floor size?
Yes. Use a Width × height calculator for walls and splashbacks, or an Area calculator if your shoppers usually know the total area.
Will the cart show what the cartons cover?
Yes. The measurements stay with the cart line, and purchased coverage updates if the shopper changes the carton quantity.
